FIFTEEN YEARS OF IMPACT: A HEARTFELT THANK YOU FROM KVTC, TANZANIA”

From Principal Daniel, on behalf of the KVTC Community  Kibosho, Tanzania

Dear Friends, Supporters, and the Entire KET Holland Family,

Warm greetings from the green hills of Kibosho, under the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro.

As we stand at a turning point in our shared journey, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude, humility, and deep emotion. On behalf of the Kibosho Vocational Training Centre (KVTC) our students, teachers, staff, board, and the entire community it is my great honor to say these words to you:

Asante sana. Thank you.

Fifteen years ago, you took a leap of faith. From far across the world, you looked at a remote corner of Tanzania and chose to believe in it. You chose to believe in us.

What began as a simple dream a school for vocational training has become a living reality: a nationally recognized, fully functioning centre where young people learn, grow, and transform their futures. From the earliest days of digging foundations, to the delivery of tools, to teaching, building, and sponsoring students KET Holland was there every step of the way.

Because of you:

More than 1,000 young people have graduated with real skills in trades like Motor vehicle mechanics, Hospitality and catering, Electrical installation, Agriculture and animal husbandry, Tailoring and cloth design, ICT and entrepreneurship, Nursery teaching and more

  • Students once facing a life of uncertainty now run businesses, support their families, and contribute to their communities with dignity and pride.
  • Vulnerable youth—orphans, those with disabilities, and the financially disadvantaged
  • were given the chance to stand tall, and build something of their own.

But these achievements are not just physical or economic. They are deeply human. KVTC is full of stories—of students who arrived unsure and afraid, and left as confident, capable adults. And those stories exist because of you.

Honoring the Hands and Hearts Behind the Mission

We express our profound appreciation to Mr. Bert Boekhold, President of KET Holland, whose wise leadership and steadfast commitment guided this mission with strength and grace. We also thank Ms. Alberdien, Chair of the Working Group, for her tireless energy, coordination, and compassion. And to every single board member, volunteer, donor, and supporter—you have left a lasting mark on this land, and in the hearts of all who pass through KVTC’s gates.

We also pause to honor the memory of Michael Ngarina, affectionately known as Mr. Mandela, a retired engineer who devoted himself fully to KVTC and to the care of orphaned children. He personally followed each student under sponsorship, ensuring they stayed on track, studied hard, and felt supported. His dedication was pure, humble, and unmatched. His passing in 2018 was deeply felt, but his spirit is still present in every act of integrity and compassion within our Centre.

The Journey Continues Because of You

Though the formal support of KET Holland now draws to a close, the story is far from over.

KVTC is strong, active, and ready for the next chapter. The values you helped us plant honesty, dedication, equity, and quality are deeply rooted in everything we do. Our team, our community, and our leadership are united in one commitment:

To continue this mission. To protect your legacy. And to grow what you began.

We wholeheartedly invite you and anyone newly inspired to keep supporting KVTC through our trusted partner, the Step-One Foundation, which will continue to provide assistance, sponsor vulnerable students, and walk with us into the future.

Your story here is not finished. You have not only helped build a school you have helped build a generation. And we still need you.

To those who helped build KVTC: You will always have a place here. To those who are reading this for the first time: There is room for you in this journey.

Together, let’s ensure that KVTC remains a beacon of opportunity in rural Tanzania for generations to come.

With all our hearts asante sana. Thank you for your trust, your faith, and your love.

With deepest gratitude and hope,

On behalf of the Students, Staff, Board, and Community of Kibosho Vocational Training Centre (KVTC)
